We hope that all our customers value our approach to providing an excellent customer experience here at The Crown. We are very proud of our staff and believe in ensuring that they receive the reward they are due because of this. Since we took over in April 2022 we have always passed on 100% of the tips which are kindly given by customers. Customers can rest assured that these are passed on to all our valued staff including the kitchen and housekeeping staff who you might not always see but contribute in spades to the overall customer experience. The way it works is that cash tips are managed by the staff on shift and distributed daily and any tips taken as part of discretionary service charge by card are distributed monthly within payroll. Staff are notified of the lump sump that is to be divided each month.
Please remember that the 10% service charge that is added to food bills is discretionary and some or all of the value can be removed at the request of the customer. We know that tips are not a guarantee and must be earned!
In the pub - We are a dog friendly pub and dogs are very welcome anywhere in the garden or the bar area (slate floor) so long as they are on a lead. All we ask is that you clean up after them and keep them relatively clear of walkways so that our staff don't have to mountaineer to get over them.
In rooms - We have 4 dog friendly rooms which must be booked by contacting us direct to check availability and there is also a £10 per room per night fee and a maximum of 2 dogs per room (or 3 very teeny, weeny ones).
